Bloggeuse et podcasteuse sur la pop culture internationale, sud-coréenne et caribéenne, Maëlla K. est une autrice trentenaire originaire de Guadeloupe. Ses gwadafictions ont pour but de raconter une identité guadeloupéenne contemporaine où féminité et masculinité se redéfinissent perpétuellement.
Après la sortie de Love Mwen, son premier recueil d’histoires courtes sur la Saint-
Valentin en 2021, Viré, sa première novella autoéditée, est disponible en français et en
anglais depuis septembre 2022. Fan des histoires de Noël et de Zouk, elle profite du projet intercaribéen Tim Tim? Bwa Fik! pour autopublier Sweet Chérie en novembre 2024.

Myinsaeng (à prononcer maï-een-seng) est l’association entre “my” (“ma” en anglais) et “insaeng” (“vie” en coréen). Ouvert en avril 2016, myinsaeng.com a d’abord été l’espace pour partager mes réflexions sur la représentation des Noirs dans l’audiovisuel et la littérature et mon expérience de femme noire, afrocaribéenne, guadeloupéenne et française. A partir de juillet 2021, cet espace sera également pour expérimenter les histoires et les personnages que j’invente. Pendant longtemps, j’ai pensé que ces deux parties de ma personnalité étaient incompatibles… mais myinsaeng.com me permet de les réconcilier.

Blogger and podcaster on international, South Korean and Caribbean pop culture, Maëlla K. is a thirty-something author from Guadeloupe. Her gwadafictions aim to tell a contemporary Guadeloupean identity where femininity and masculinity are perpetually redefined. After the release of “Love Mwen”, her first collection of short stories about Valentine’s Day in 2021, “Viré” is her first self-published novella available in French and English since September 2022. As a fan of Christmas stories and Zouk music, she joins the Tim Tim? Bwa Fik! intercaribbean project to self-publish “Sweet Chérie” in November 2024.

Myinsaeng (pronounced “my-een-seng) combines the English word “my” and the Korean word “insaeng” (meaning “life”). Opened in April 2016, myinsaeng.com was initially the space to share my thoughts on the representation of Black people in cinema/TV and literature and my experience as a Black, Afrocaribbean, Guadeloupean and French woman. Starting from July 2021, this space will also be for experimenting with the stories and characters I create. For a long time, I thought that these two sides of my personality were incompatible… but myinsaeng.com allows me to reconcile them.
